I’ll always love you’ she promised.
looked in those eyes, they were honest.
Caught in the thralls of this goddess,
(nodding my head, and saying no)
a few drinks gave me Dutch courage.
mouse turned silver tongued Adonis,
way I figured she’s madness
makes too much sense to let her go.
She gave me clarity at the cost of her sanity.
Lavished me passion enough to have me believing
we would be forever.
never imagined anything less than happiness.
Fate said it wasn’t meant to be
all we had left was sad events.
in a sense,
we were stuck in the motion,
didn’t really consider the content
impulsively playing a part
feeding a role, not giving it context.
What started out simply enough,
Now grown up, feels Riddled and complex
All we’re left with pieces of feelings once seemingly perfect
Now broken and lifeless….
she left…
